10. For the first time, I don’t have any resolutions to get fit, feel stronger or have any more energy than I already have. #thanksallset
9. Ample parking? Who cares - I prefer to stress over being late to a class or workout because I enjoy driving around desperately searching for a spot or panicking because I don’t have quarters for the meters.
8. I have some dumbbells and one of those big blow-up stability balls at home, I even got a kettle-bell for the holidays and am motivated to workout at home...consistently. Mid-winter. When I’m tired. When my kids kept me up. After a night out with co-workers. Because it's Monday...because it's Friday...Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. My bed is super comfy and my covers are just so super warm...etc etc etc
7. I’m not among the 99% of all human beings who begin losing ½-1% muscle mass per year after the age of 30 without dedicated weight-training. I’m good.
5. A staple in Newton, O'Hara’s Food & Spirits and a neighborhood newcomer, Walnut Grille are right next door...I don’t want to be tempted to meet my family there for a healthy dinner after my workout, or check out the newest vegetarian experience in Boston. check-please?
4. Clean, well-lit facilities with upscale amenities just don’t do it for me. I prefer dungeon-like weight-rooms, with locker rooms resembling something out of a 1970’s Stephen King film...
3. I’m allergic to friendly, motivating and funny people - otherwise known as the BodyScapes training staff of fitness professionals. Why would I want someone on my team focused on encouraging me to meet my goals. Cough-sneeze-gag!
2. I did great through the holiday season this year, kept up my workout routine and actually lost weight!
1. I plan to use the Force to improve my health and well-being this year. Hey... it worked for Luke Skywalker.
